Children brought to Australia from Nauru for medical treatment face the prospect of being returned to the tiny Pacific island once their health improves.


That's according to Immigration Minister Peter Dutton.

He says the children will be flown back to Nauru in keeping with the federal government's pledge that people who come to Australia by boat will never get permanent settlement here.
