Footballers, rights groups demand intervention for detained refugee

Supporters of a Melbourne-based refugee and footballer detained in Thailand have renewed calls for his return to Australia.

Hakeem Alaraibi is being held indefinitely in Thailand after being arrested in November. 

Mr Alaraibi fled Bahrain in 2014 in fear of his safety after criticising local authorities, and says he fears what will happen to him if sent back.
