It has been revealed that former federal assistant minister Wyatt Roy has travelled to an Iraqi conflict zone near the border with Syria.
Mr Roy has told S-B-S he was caught in a firefight between the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) and Kurdish Peshmerga forces near the town of Sinjar - the site of a deadly siege two years ago.
