Civilians are reportedly being used as human shields in the city of Mosul as Iraqi forces advance on the self-proclaimed Islamic State's last major stronghold in the country.
Humanitarian groups say they hold grave concerns for the safety of around one-and-a-half million people still living in the city.
They have appealed for all sides in the battle to respect human rights.
