The government says this year's increase in health insurance premiums will be the lowest in seventeen years. But the increase, which takes effect in April will still cost the average family around $200 more.


Health insurance premiums have increased every year since 2001.

But Federal Health Minister, Greg Hunt, is suggesting that this year's anticipated rise of less than four per cent is a win.
