Iraqi forces retake Kirkuk from Kurdish control

The Iraqi army says it has assumed control of the Kurdish-held oil city of Kirkuk, seizing government headquarters. Tensions between the two sides have been running high since Iraqi Kurds overwhelmingly voted for secession in a referendum last month.
