More than a million older Australians could be at high risk of falls, disability and even death from a little-known muscle-wasting disease.


Sarcopenia advocates have nominated a national awareness day, in what researchers hope is another move closer to acknowledging its debilitating impact.

While more than a hundred countries recognise the UN’s classification of the condition two years ago, Australia isn’t among them.
