Israel has suspended an apparent deal to resettle thousands of African asylum seekers in the West only hours after announcing the agreement with the United Nations.


Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu put the plan to relocate 16,000 people to Europe and Canada on hold after pressure from within his own party and voters opposed to the idea.
