Japanese authorities are trying to pinpoint a motive for a deadly arson attack that's left the country in mourning.

At least 33 people are dead and dozens more injured after a man set fire to a Kyoto animation studio.

The suspect -  who is now in custody -  allegedly poured petrol on the floor of the building and shouted "die" before igniting the liquid.
