Trees can cause many problems so planting a new tree is not just a matter of deciding where it will look best, you should probably think about how it will affect your neighbours.
If you have a problem with a neighbours tree don't take it upon yourself to to start hacking bits off it or cutting it down or poisoning it there are limitations on what can and can't be done. If a tree is causing you and your property a problem there are things you can do and procedures that need to be followed but if it is just a case that you don't like trees you might like to think about therapy or counseling.
