Prisoners of conscience Le Dinh Luong will be brought to trial on Thursday, August 16 in Nghe An province on charges of "Operation to overthrow the people's government" under Article 79 of the Vietnam Penal Code.

His trial was supposed to take place on July 30 but was postponed due to a lawyer's request.

He is known as an environmental activist in the case of the Formosa steel plant that discharged hazardous chemicals that have disrupted the marine environment in the four central provinces and corruption of local authority.

At the Mass in My Khanh parish in Nghe An province on Sunday, Father Dang Huu Nam celebrated the feast of Le Dinh Luong and Nguyen Trung Truc, the priest confirmed the trial of two prisoners of conscience .
