Local politicians and community workers in the largest site for the Federal Government's proposed welfare drug-testing trial say it will not work and is not justified.
Legislation for the world-first, $10 million trial will go before the Senate shortly, but Labor and the Greens oppose it, and it will need crossbench support to pass.
If passed, the Government hopes the trial will get unemployed drug users in the Queensland city of Logan into treatment and work.
