Mekong Delta are under drought and saline intrusion seriously than ever before. China on Monday began flushing 03.15.2016 from Jinghong dams to the Mekong River basin countries, including Vietnam. But some experts said that measures upstream discharge will not help much.


In an interview with Phan Bach, Prof. Dr. Vo Tong Xuan principal of South Can Tho University said he believes that the most practical solution is to find ways to live with droughts and changed their thinking need to freshwater farming as this ancient because according to him, even upstream discharge from the Mekong river will not come down much to Vietnam.
