Poland has welcomed US troops at a formal ceremony, in an open bid to diminish Russia's power in Eastern Europe.
This is the first convoy from NATO's Operation Atlantic Resolve -- a deployment of 4,000 US forces to Poland.
It represents the largest number of American troops in Europe since the Cold War.
US forces will also be rotated through Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
All are NATO states near or bordering Russia.
