Climate change is accelerating at an alarming rate, according a report by the World Meteorological Organisation, which warns global temperature rises could to cross a critical threshold in the next five years. The 2015 Paris Climate Agreement sets out to limit global temperature rises to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial times by the end of the century, but scientists say there is a chance we could temporarily hit that mark by 2023.
