Newcomer versus nationalist leader in French run-off

Political newcomer Emmanuel Macron and nationalist leader Marine Le Pen have emerged as the top two candidates after the first round of the French presidency.


Mr Macron led the vote with 23.9 per cent, while Ms Le Pen finished with 21.4 per cent.

They will now face off in the presidential run-off vote on May the 7th.
