At the summit held by the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF), many speakers expressed concern over the growing serious religious freedom violations in Vietnam.

At the seminar on prisoners of conscience, the USCIRF Commission officially announced the decision to choose Patriarch Thich Quang Do as one of the seven prisoners of conscience representing the state of religious repression in the world.

Dr. Nguyen Dinh Thang, General Director and President of PB / SOS, said that the reason for choosing Him is that it represents the world's religious repression.
