Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has repeated that Immigration minister Peter Dutton was "recklessly misrepresented", in his comments appearing to link past Lebanese migration to terror-related offences.

The Prime Minister has described the end of the sitting year as "weeks of great achievement".

He brushed off an earlier stalemate over the backpacker tax, and two days of protests at Parliament House over asylum seeker policy.

On the future of SBS - the Prime Minister would not comment on whether a merger with the ABC was likely.

He also refused to speculate on funding cuts - saying only that the Government had a "very rigorous budget process".
