Supporters of same-sex marriage in Taiwan are celebrating a landmark ruling which opens the way for the island to become the first place in Asia to recognise gay marriage.


Supporters of same-sex marriage are celebrating on the streets of Taiwan after a historic decision from its top court, the first in Asia to rule in favour of gay marriage.

A panel of 14 judges has found current laws, which say marriage is between a man and a woman, violate the constitution.
