Being offered a job washing dishes in St Vincents hospital kitchen in Sydney when Tuan Nguyen arriving in 1982, 37 years later, Nguyen is still at St Vincents, only now he is Professor Nguyen and has been awarded a doctorate of science from UNSW for a quarter of a century of research at the Garvan Institute.
