Vietnamese people usually return to their families during Tết. Some return to worship at the family altar or visit the graves of their ancestors in their homeland.


Once in Australia, Vietnamese people wanted to be part of the host society, but they also wanted to maintain their cultural identity.

Some Vietnamese students and workers, whose parents are still in homeland, tell SBS Vietnamese how they spend the old Tet with their families.
