International monitors say they have serious concerns about Turkey's weekend referendum that approved strengthening President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's constitutional powers.

The 47-member Council of Europe, the continent's leading human-rights body, says the referendum was an uneven contest.

It cites what it calls an inadequate legal framework and late changes in ballot-counting.

Australia's Turkish communities say they will remain united, regardless of the referendum's outcome.

And despite Turkey voting YES to grant President Erdogan greater powers, most Turkish-Australians voted otherwise.
