Of the estimated 1 million Syrian refugees who now occupy neighbouring Lebanon, four in five are women and children with little or no access to employment.


For many, begging is a necessity.

And, in some cases, even that practice is controlled by cartels seeking to exploit the most vulnerable.

Despite the recent dismantling of a significant Lebanese sex-trafficking ring, young Syrian girls remain a serious target of exploitation.
