Fewer people are smoking worldwide, but the World Health Organisation ((WHO)) says only one country in eight is meeting a target to reduce tobacco use significantly by 2025.


The W-H-O says 3 million people die prematurely each year due to tobacco use, which causes cardiovascular disease, including heart attacks and stroke.

The organisation says widespread ignorance of the dangers of smoking remains in China and India.
