The US Secretary of State has begun a visit to east Africa by pushing for the deployment of a regional peacekeeping force to South Sudan.
The deteriorating humanitarian situation in the world's youngest nation, South Sudan, has been a key focus of talks in Kenya between US Secretary of State, John Kerry, and regional foreign leaders.
The breakdown of a fragile peace deal last month saw fierce fighting erupt in the capital, Juba, and raised fears the country could slide back into civil war.
