This month ((nov)) marks 80 years since Kristallnacht, the two nights of violence against Jewish people in Germany often viewed as the beginning of the Holocaust.
The violence led Aboriginal elder William Cooper to lead a march across Melbourne to lodge a protest at the German consulate, possibly the only one of its kind in the world.
Now, in the same city all these years later, one of his descendants and an Australia-based survivor of the nights look back.
