Therapy animal advocates say regulation of the sector 'a shambles'

Guide dogs for the visually impaired were once the most common assistance animal but now dogs are being used to help people with a range of physical and mental impairments including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, autism and epilepsy. But the laws and regulation around assistance animals haven’t kept up with the increasing and ever-changing use of the dogs.
