The successful and well known entrepreneur and the pioneer in internet industry Tran Huynh Duy Thuc has serve his ninth year in prison. The founder of the One Connection - one of the first company in the world which attempted to bring internet to the broad customers Tran Huynh Duy Thuc was also a blogger and human rights defender and was arrested in 24th May 2009. He advocates for economic, social and administrative reform, and respect for human rights. In January 2010 he was sentenced to 16 years' imprisonment under Article 79 of the Penal Code ("attempting to overthrow" the state), plus five years' house arrest on release. To mark the nine year being held in prison for a charge of which he has always insisted as a wrong conviction, Thuc's best friend and co-charged, Lawyer Le Cong Dinh has a meaningful recall to share with SBS Vietnamese.
