Sunday ((Oct 14)) marks 50 years since the first group of migrants from Turkey landed in Australia following a 1967 agreement between the two countries. The agreement came at a time Australia was questioning its commitment to the White Australia policy. It was also the first agreement signed with a predominantly Muslim country.
