UN fearing even worse for Yemen if port is closed

The war in Yemen has created the world's worst humanitarian crisis, with millions of residents facing starvation or severely restricted access to basic needs.The United Nations is warning of increasing violence and calling for improved access to key ports to allow shipments of food and other essential goods.


Nearly three years of war have left Yemen a shell of its former self.

And the United Nations has run out of patience.

It has criticised both the Saudi Arabian-led coalition backing the government, largely supported by the international community, and the Houthi , backed in part by Iran.
