The United Nations is calling for what it has termed a workable humanitarian pause for the Syrian city of Aleppo.

It comes after Russia announced daily three-hour breaks in fighting to allow aid to enter, saying both the Syrian and Russian governments are ready to help groups deliver help.

But the United Nations says that is not enough time and says the UN itself must run any humanitarian efforts for the millions of people still stuck in the city after years of heavy fighting.
