It comes as the Syrian government, supported by Russian air power, pounded rebel-held areas of Aleppo, bombing one of the city's main hospitals.

The United States has suspended talks with Russia on trying to end the violence in Syria, accusing the Russians of not living up to their commitments under a ceasefire agreement.
