US President's decision to withdraw troops from Syria provokes outcry

US President Donald Trump has defended his decision to pull American troops out of north-eastern Syria despite outcry from Democratic and even Republican lawmakers. Kurdish forces in Syria say the US has stabbed them in the back by pulling out of the region, leaving them at the mercy of an invasion by Turkish forces.
