US says North Korean nuclear program could be largely dismantled in a year

The United States is also concerned about North Korea’s true intentions regarding committing to denuclearisation.


When United States president Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un promised to work towards complete denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula in Singapore last month, ((june)) there was little detail about how or when North Korea would commit.

Now, the Trump administration has publicly suggested a timeline for North Korea to fulfil its promise.

US national-security adviser John Bolton has told the US television network CBS North Korea’s nuclear-weapons and ballistic-missile program could be dismantled within a year.
