Since the cyber security law has been freshly passed today with 86% consensus at the National Assembly meeting in Hanoi, which is due to be effective on 1/1/2019 it means those global companies such as Alphabet Inc.’s Google and Facebook Inc. will be required to store all data of Vietnam-based users in the country and also open their local offices. Advice from Sydney-based cyber expert Hoang-Ngoc Dieu of how users can do to protect their right of access to internet and their private details from being disclosed by the authorities.
