Facebook Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg has apologised to Europe for his company's failure to prevent some of the internet tools it has developed from being misused.
The apology came as he faced the European Parliament to explain the data scandal which saw the sharing of the private information of up to 87 million Facebook users.
It comes ahead of key data protection regulations coming into force in Europe this week.
