It's three months until 'Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens' opens on December 17. Marc Fennell talks to the makers of the real-life R2D2, the BB8 bot.

This is the droid you’re looking for: BB8. It is slated to be the new R2D2 when the next Stars Wars movie,The Force Awakens, which opens in Australia on December 17.

But BB8 differs from his predecessor in that he’s actually real. When Lucasfilm and Disney wanted to make a real life working droid, they went to a small Colorado company called Sphero.

Marc Fennell spoke to the chief operating officer Jim Booth to find out how you build a droid.
