The Squad is back.
Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ayanna Pressley have all retained their seats in the US House of Representatives, as American voters took to the polls on Wednesday (AEDT).
The group - dubbed “The Squad” - are first-term Democrats and respectively held the safe seats of Minnesota, Michigan, New York and Massachusetts.
They are considered left-leaning representatives who advocate progressive policies and represent diverse, young voters.
Ms Ocasio-Cortez said she was re-elected despite "millions spent against" her campaign.
Ms Pressley said about her victory was a fight for "humanity".
The group gained prominence in 2019 when Donald Trump tweeted that all four should "go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came".
The president was criticised for the apparent insinuation that people of colour were foreign. Three of the four were all born in the US.
Ms Omar became a citizen as a teenager.
