10 dead in Bangladesh boat tragedy

An overloaded passenger boat has capsized in Bangladesh, killing eight children and two women.

Eight children and two women were killed when a boat capsized in Bangladesh, and police say that several people remained missing.

Police in the district of Narsingdi, east of the capital Dhaka, said an overloaded passenger boat capsized at about on Saturday morning on the Arial Kha river.

Local police chief Azharul Islam said the victims' bodies were recovered and handed over to the families, and that the fire service had ended the rescue operation.
