A $100,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest of a suspect in a Sydney murder 13 years ago.

Police are looking for 33-year-old Basheeruddin Mohammed in connection to the 2003 murder of 31-year-old Indian man Shoukat Mohammed, who was drugged, strangled, bludgeoned with a baseball bat and dumped in a wheelie bin in Redfern.

Basheeruddin Mohammed's former flatmate Youssef Tecle Imnetu, a 32-year-old Belgian national, is serving a 26-year prison sentence after he was convicted of murder in 2005 over his role in the killing.

Basheeruddin Mohammed was deported from Australia before he was a murder suspect and police believe he is in India.
