15pc GST off table for next three years

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has again promised not to hike the GST to 15 per cent should the coalition win government on Saturday.

One thing is certain after Saturday's federal election - the GST rate won't budge from 10 per cent for at least three years.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has again ruled out revisiting a hike in the tax if the coalition retains government, matching a Labor promise.

"We did not kick it into the long grass for political reasons," Mr Turnbull told Nine Network on Friday.
