18 militants killed, 37 wounded in Syria

Eighteen Islamic State militants have been killed and 37 wounded during clashes in northern Syria, Turkey's military says.

In a round-up of its operations over the past 24 hours, the army said its warplanes destroyed four IS targets and Russian aircraft hit jihadists in Dayr Kak, 8km southwest of the Islamic State-controlled town of al-Bab on Monday.

Turkey's military has backed Syrian rebels in a four-month-old operation against IS in northern Syria.
