$200k of jewellery stolen from Sydney's north shore home

A cat burglar has stolen $200,000 worth of jewellery from a home on Sydney's north shore.

Diamonds, pearls and gold necklaces were some of the bounty taken from a safe in the Lane Cove home earlier this month.

The owners weren't at their house on Burns Bay Road when the theft happened between 4am on September 11 and 2.30pm on September 12.

Police have released photos of the jewels in a public appeal for information.
