2011 brought a series of natural disasters in Australia and elsewhere in the world.

In recent years, Australia has lived up to its reputation as a land of droughts and flooding rains.

But in 2011, it mostly seemed to be flooding rains. And Queensland probably suffered the most.

Likewise, other countries around the world experienced their own great natural disasters.
