Thai authorities have confirmed no Australians were affected by bombings in popular tourist areas.
One Thai person was killed and 30 wounded when two bombs exploded late on Tuesday near a hotel in the southern Thai coastal town of Pattani, less than two weeks after a series of unexplained blasts hit the south.
The Australian embassy in Bangkok has contacted Thai authorities who confirmed there were no Australians affected.
Australian travellers have been advised not to go to Yala, Pattani, Narathiwat and Songkhla because of the very high risk.
"The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has long advised Australians not to travel to Thailand's four southernmost provinces (including Pattani) due to the high level of ongoing violence," a spokesperson told AAP.
