Fremantle skipper David Mundy says he disagrees with coach Ross Lyon's assessment of the club's list, declaring the Dockers can bounce back quickly from their horror 2016 campaign.
The Dockers managed just four wins this year in what will be remembered as one of the worst seasons in club history.
And things could get worse before they get better, with more than a dozen players expected to depart from the club in the coming months.
Lyon has urged fans to be patient while the club rebuilds, claiming it could take around four years before the Dockers are contenders again.
But at 31 years of age, Mundy can't afford to wait that long and the first-year skipper is confident he won't have to.

"I've got different opinions about a number of things than Ross, and that may just be one," Mundy said on Monday.
"All I know is that we're working really hard together to try and make sure that the rebuild, or the bounce, is as quick as it can be, and we're back playing finals football as soon as we can be.
"I think he (Lyon) was just highlighting some examples of the past (that) it has potentially taken a little bit longer (for other clubs)."
Mundy surprisingly beat Nat Fyfe for the captaincy role during a player vote last summer, and the 251-game veteran is keen to stay on in the role.
But he knows he'll face another stiff challenge from Fyfe when the next player vote is held.
"I've really enjoyed my time as captain and would really love the challenge of going again," Mundy said.
Fremantle farewelled retiring forward Matthew Pavlich in grand style on Sunday, with the club posting a stirring 20-point win over the Bulldogs.
But the euphoria surrounding that result will soon dissipate for a number of players as the Dockers get set to wield the axe.
Hayden Ballantyne, Garrick Ibbotson, Nick Suban, Ed Langdon, and Michael Barlow could be used as trade bait, while ruckman Zac Clarke and forward Chris Mayne might leave via free agency.
Tendai Mzungu, Matt de Boer, Anthony Morabito, Clancee Pearce, Jack Hannath, and Alex Silvagni face uncertain futures as Fremantle's list management team prepare to get ruthless with the underperforming squad.
