Sydney Airport has appointed chief financial officer Hugh Wehby as the new chief operating officer from January 2017.

He will replace Shelley Roberts, who has resigned to take up an external chief executive role.

Mr Wehby was appointed CFO in 2014 and has worked in the aviation industry since 2005. He will be responsible for all aviation business, including airline relationships, business development, long-term master planning and the western Sydney airport opportunity.
