Two women caring for their sister's orphaned children after she was murdered say they cannot claim financial assistance from the Victorian government.
Maria Aylward and her sister, Caitlin Dolman, have been campaigning for help since their sister Korinne Aylward and her partner, Greg Tucker, were killed in 2013 by Mustafa Kunduraci in their Moonee Ponds home.
The women have been told in order to get financial help, they would need to put their two nephews and niece into foster care and apply to care for them, according to a petition started by Maria on change.org.
Ms Aylward and Ms Dolman visited state parliament on Tuesday, where the matter was raised with Premier Daniel Andrews by the Opposition.
Mr Andrews said he would ask for his department to look into the situation at the end of question time.

On Friday morning, Ms Aylward told 3AW she still had not heard from the government.
A government spokeswoman said in a statement: "The government will provide any support it can to the family."
AAP understands the premier has contacted the Secretary of the Department of Premier and Cabinet asking him to personally look into this case and the Department of Health and Human Services is working on a solution for the family.
