After more than two months of silence, the head of cycling's Team Sky says a medical package delivered in 2011 contained a legal decongestant.
Dave Brailsford was appearing at a parliamentary doping hearing in London when he made the disclosure about the package that sparked an investigation by the UK Anti-Doping agency after a newspaper report.
UKAD gave approval to legislators on Monday for questions to cycling officials about the substance.
Brailsford says Fluimucil, a brand name for a product containing acetylcysteine, was sent by England to France on the final day of the 2011 Dauphine Libere. Team Sky rider Bradley Wiggins, an asthmatic, won the race.
Brailsford says "I don't think there's anything wrong with Fluimucil."
