Police question Berlin suspect's family

The family of the main suspect in the Berlin Christmas market's attack has been reportedly questioned by police in Tunisia.

Tunisia's anti-terrorism police have raided the house of a wanted suspect in Berlin's deadly truck attack and questioned his family, Tunisian online newspaper al-Chorouk reports.

The family of the young suspect, named Anis Amri, have confirmed that his contacts with them have not been regular since he left the country during the late 2010 uprising, the report adds.

The 24-year-old suspect belongs to a poor family in Tunisia's province of Kairouan, it says.

A wanted notice for a Tunisian suspect in the truck attack on a Christmas market in Berlin says the man should be considered armed and dangerous.

The notice, a European arrest warrant from Germany obtained by The Associated Press on Wednesday, indicates he has at times used six different aliases and three different nationalities.

German authorities say they rejected the man's asylum request in July.

The notice comes after Ralf Jaeger, the interior minister of North Rhine-Westphalia said he had already been under investigation on suspicion of preparing a serious act of violent subversion against the state.
